All tests are carried out with the additional Compaq PC Card (PCMCIA sleeve). That's why there are two battery icons in the pictures, this sleeve has a 2nd battery within it.

Tests with 1GB Microdrive 

I ran my iPAQ playing WMAs with the screen off for a total of 4.8 hrs, 293 mins before the iPAQ refused to turn on! I suspect a reminder ran the flashing LED for sometime during the day whilst the iPAQ was in my bag. I will repeat the tests shortly.

This was after running for 12 mins general use with the backlight on, and then playing WMAs for 148 mins

This was 15 mins before the iPAQ shut down and refused to switch on until I recharged it. 

Tests with 64mb CF card

Tests were run with a full PC Card and main battery, using a 64mb CF card in PCMCIA adapter in PC Card sleeve

Total time measured 616 mins without a recharge, over 10 hours of use!

1hr 45 mins listening to WMAs via headphone with screen off

23 mins IR sync

1 hr WMA with screen off

2 hr on-line via IRDA, surfing and reading email

Friday 22nd September

23 mins IRDA surfing

25 mins total Ethernet sync using Socket LP/E PCMCIA card

10 mins install PocketTV, install and config dashboard

5 mins Playback of MPEG Audi TT advert using PocketTV

Friday 22nd September evening

2.5 hr online via irda email & inet

60 mins general use & 15 m irda surfing

Occasional use over the weekend, then it shut down Monday morning when trying to play a WMA file.
